2014 Jeep Patriot: Air Filter Replacement
Today, on our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we’re gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the PTC custom fit cabin air filter, part number 3513712.A lot of times when you take your vehicle in for regular maintenance, such as an oil change, they’ll always ask you, “Do you want your cabin air filter replaced” A lot of people will say yes, without knowing how easy it is to do yourself, which could save you money.Changing your air filter regularly is a great way to make sure that the quality of the air is good inside your cabin. The air filter works as a barrier between the outside world and the air inside your car. Now, it prevents any type of dust, dirt, debris, or other vehicle admissions, or particulate matter like brake dust, from entering inside your vehicle and causing you to breathe it in. It’s also gonna improve your air flow, so when you replace your filter with a new one, your heating and a/c is gonna work more efficiently. It only takes about five minutes to replace, which is what we’re gonna do now. With most vehicles, the filter’s gonna be behind or under your glove box. The certain placement will be different in most vehicles. Those tabs, we’re gonna push in on both sides. Pull it out. Now we can go ahead and pull out the old filter, like so.Before we replace the filter, we’re gonna take a look at the old and new, side by side. Now it’s no question you can tell which one is new, and which one is old. In the old one, you can see all the dirt and debris. How Important Is This ServiceWhen you turn on the heat, fan, or air conditioning in your vehicle, the air that enters the cabin is taken from outside the car. Before passing through your vents it first goes through the cabin air filter, which captures much of the dust, dirt, and harmful pollutants in the air. A functioning cabin air filter assures that the air coming through your vents is clean. When the cabin air filter stops working, the air that enters your vents is unfiltered and can be harmful to breathe. A dirty cabin air filter also obstructs the flow of air to the vents, which will lower the power of your heating or air conditioning system. Ivanka Trump responds to personal email use questions, border crisis and her father
It baffles me as to how people can continue to support former President Donald Trump. In my view, Trump has done more to destroy democracy than any other president in history. He tried to steal an election. He incited a riot against Congress. He has his minions trying to change election laws to make it harder to vote. He essentially tried to destroy NATO and rebuffed our allies while playing footsies with Russia, China and North Korea. He had in his possession confidential documents from the White House, and who knows what he did or intended to do with them. In addition, I believe that Trump is an embarrassment to this country because of his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. And he made idiotic remarks about buying Greenland, dropping a nuclear bomb on a hurricane, and Italy allegedly using its satellites to change the votes in election machines. It seemed that, while Trump was in office, a day didnt go by without him lying about something. If he was Pinocchio, I believe that his nose would stretch from one end of the country to the other. I could go on, but there is a word limit for letters to the editor. So for those who continue to support Trump, brush up on your history and I believe that you will see similarities between Trumps actions and what happened in Nazi Germany. If you continue to support Trump and his cohorts who promote his lies and do his bidding, I believe that you are helping to destroy democracy. Jeep Patriot: Bad Motor Mount Symptoms + Diagnosis
jeep patriot motor mounts
While your Jeep Patriots engine mounts can last the life of the entire vehicle, it is possible that they will go bad. Vibration and a clunking sound are the two most noticeable symptoms when driving the vehicle. There are plenty of visible signs as well. Engine mounts connect the engine to the frame of the Patriot. They also provide vibration dampening. It is essential to the operation of the vehicle that they are working properly. If you have bad motor mounts, its usually pretty obvious. Patriot Defective Motor Mounts
Rattling And Clunking NoisesIf the motor mounts in your car are beginning to go, the engine will shake and rattle more than usual, because its not held firmly in place by something thats absorbing the movement. When this happens, the car will begin to make some rattling noises, that hopefully get your feelers up.If the mounts arent fixed, that will lead to a clunking noise whenever you put your car in gear, which will eventually evolve into a clunking noise whenever you use the gas pedal, brake pedal, or drive over any bumps. When your car talks, listen. You May Like: Streaming New England Patriots Game How To Save Money On Motor Mount ReplacementThe main way to save money on motor mount replacement is to have your 2015 Jeep Patriot inspected and repaired as soon as you notice any excessive vibration or engine movement. This will minimize the effect of the broken mount on the other engine mounts and will reduce the likelihood of them needing replaced.Having the repair done early will also help prevent any more serious damage being done to the engine, saving you money on additional repairs. As always, shop around for a few quotes from garages in your local area. The job will involve using equipment which most people wont have at home, and the importance of the repair to the overall performance of your 2015 Jeep Patriot means its best left to a trained professional. Try to get the best price for the work, but always go with a mechanic with a good reputation. Stage : Engine MovementIf you are driving and you feel the engine banging around, thats a sure indication that a motor mount has failed. Really, you shouldnt drive a vehicle with a motor mount clunking or even vibrating. If you hear and feel the engine rolling around, its time to stop driving and have the motor mounts replaced immediately. Its going to cause all sorts of collateral damage in there. Don’t Miss: Has Trump Ever Filed Bankruptcy How Often Do Engine Mounts Need To Be ReplacedEngine mounts typically last 60,000-100,000 miles, but can fail prematurely with aggressive driving, outside storage, dry climates, and traffic collisions. Some manufacturers specify an interval to inspect the motor mounts. When the mounts look cracked, are beginning to separate, are leaking fluid, or allow excess movement, they should be changed. Bad Motor Mount Diagnosis: Jeep PatriotYou can inspect the motor mounts and look to see if they have any free play. If you take a look at your Patriots engine as it goes in and out of gear, it is normal to observe some movement of the engine as it torques one way or the other. It is not normal for it to make a clunking noise, or move excessively. It is very difficult to tell that a motor mount is bad just by looking at it. Thats why its better to look for the signs of a bad motor mount, than to look at the mounts themselves. Here are some ways of telling if your engine mount is bad just by looking for signs. Donald Trump clashes with media at chaotic midterm election press conference
President Donald Trump speaks in front of the White House on Jan. 6, 2021.NEW YORK Former President Donald Trump has canceled a press conference he had planned to hold in Florida on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by his supporters. Trump said in a statement Tuesday evening that he would instead be discussing his grievances at a rally he has planned in Arizona later this month. Trump had been expected to use the press conference to rail against the congressional committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, when a mob of his supporters violently stormed the Capitol in an effort to halt the peaceful transfer of power, and to repeat his lies about the 2020 election. Trump continues to falsely insist that the election was stolen and that the real insurrection was on Nov. 3, 2020, the day Democrat Joe Biden won a 306-232 Electoral College victory. Federal and state election officials, Trumps own attorney general and numerous judges including some he appointed have all said repeatedly that the election was fair and that there is no credible evidence of serious fraud. In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona, Trump wrote. Donoghue Says He Asked Doj Official In National Security Division Not To Participate In Mass Resignation PlotDuring a phone call that occurred before the contentious Jan. 3 White House meeting, Donoghue said that a group of assistant attorneys general all agreed they would resign en masse if Trump replaced Rosen with Clark. Donoghue said that he directed the assistant attorney general of the national security division, John Demers, not to resign. Donoghue said the assistant attorneys general said they would resign without hesitation and that they would leave the department if Trump fired Rosen. He said that he told Demers not to resign because his position was too important to be left open. The committee discussed the evolution of how an outrageous conspiracy theory involving the Italian government made its way through the Trump administration and revealed that the Defense secretary sought answers on it from an Italian official. The conspiracy theory involved Italians changing the U.S. election results and then loading them into military satellites. In response to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows passing along this theory, Richard Donoghue described it as pure insanity. The Select Committee investigation found that this wild, baseless conspiracy theory made it from the recesses of the internet to the highest echelons of our government, Kinzinger said, pointing to a text from Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., to Meadows asking: Why cant we just work with the Italian government? Giuliani responded, “This is a pathetic effort to cover up what are enormous allegations of criminality by the Biden family.” Yet by September 2019, there had been no clear evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens. Parnas and Fruman were arrested for campaign finance violations while attempting to board a one-way flight to Frankfurt from on October 9, 2019. Giuliani was paid $500,000 to consult for Lev Parnas’s company named “Fraud Guarantee”. Republican donor and Trump supporter Long Island attorney Charles Gucciardo paid Giuliani on behalf of Fraud Guarantee in two $250,000 payments, in September and October 2018. Fruman eventually pled guilty in September 2021 to having solicited a contribution by a foreign national. Shortly before the press conference, a person close to the former president reached out to an official at the Justice Department to deliver a message to Garland. The New York Times reported that the message Trump wanted to be passed to Garland was: The country is on fire. What can I do to reduce the heat? During the press conference, Garland, who was 35 minutes late, only spoke for a few minutes and answered no questions from reporters. First, I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter, Garland admitted during the press conference. Second, the Department does not take such a decision lightly. Where possible, it is standard practice to seek less intrusive means as an alternative to a search, and to narrowly scope any search that is undertaken. 2020 election deniers win key GOP primaries
Or as FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver explained as California was considering the change, if every state helds its primaries this way, wed have a Senate full of Susan Collinses and Joe Liebermans, referring to two New England moderates. Thats the theory. A decade into Californias electoral experiment, not everyone thinks its worked so well in practice. In the June 7 primary, the fantastically expensive five-way competition to be state controller resulted in a victory for Republican Lanhee Chen and progressive Democrat Malia Cohen. Steve Glazer, among the most conservative Democrats in the state Senate who could serve as poster boy for the top two, didnt make the cut. The polarized outcome more or less reflects what one might expect from a partisan primary. Likewise, in the races for governor and attorney general, voters in November will not see the liberal Democratic incumbents square off against moderate Democrats or independents, but against long-shot Republicans. After legislative primaries in Democratic strongholds in Sacramento, Hayward, Inglewood and San Diego, voters will see two Democrats square off in November. But from San Mateo to Milpitas to San Luis Opisbo from Palmdale to Moreno Valley from Norwalk to Anaheim, many of the states solidly blue legislative districts eschewed picking Democrats in the top two, instead opting for traditional partisan standoffs pitting a Democrat versus a sacrificial Republican. Primary Elections In California 2022
This page focuses on the top-two primaries that took place in California on June 7, 2022. California uses a top-two primary system, in which all candidates appear on the same ballot. The top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, move on to the general election. In states that do not use a top-two system, all parties are usually able to put forward a candidate for the general election if they choose to. Unlike the top-two format used in some states , a general election between the top two candidates in California occurs regardless of whether the top candidate received 50 percent of the vote in the first round of elections. As of 2019, California was one of three states to use a top-two primary system. Washington used the system for congressional and state-level elections, and Nebraska utilized a top-two system for its nonpartisan state legislature. Delegates to the national convention in other states were elected by the respective state party organizations. The delegates to the national convention voted on the first ballot to select Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee for president of the United States in the 2020 election, and selected Mike Pence as the vice-presidential nominee. President Donald Trump informally launched his bid for reelection on February 18, 2017. He launched his reelection campaign earlier in his presidency than any of his predecessors did. He was followed by former governor of MassachusettsBill Weld, who announced his campaign on April 15, 2019, and former Illinois congressmanJoe Walsh, who declared his candidacy on August 25, 2019. Pro-Trump, anti-Biden signs with foul language cause stir in NJ town
Mr. Trump is the central and heroic figure in QAnons core narrative the brave patriot who was chosen to save America from the global cabal. As a result, most QAnon believers expected that he would easily win re-election, and spend his second term vanquishing the deep state and bringing the satanic pedophiles to justice. After Mr. Trumps election loss in November, many QAnon believers rallied behind the false theory that the election was stolen from him. Many expected that on Inauguration Day, Mr. Trump would not actually leave office as scheduled but would declare martial law, announce mass arrests of Democrats and stop Mr. Biden from taking office. When that didnt happen, many QAnon believers grew disillusioned, and some even realized they had been duped. But others continued to believe that The Storm was still approaching, and maintained that Mr. Trump was still planning a triumphant comeback. A History Of Insult And OutrageAmericas presidents have endured meanness for centuries Grover Cleveland faced chants of “Ma, Ma Wheres my Pa?” in the 1880s over rumors hed fathered an illegitimate child. Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were the subject of poems that leaned into racist tropes and allegations of bigamy. “We have a sense of the dignity of the office of president that has consistently been violated to our horror over the course of American history,” said Cal Jillson, a politics expert and professor in the political science department at Southern Methodist University. “We never fail to be horrified by some new outrage.” There were plenty of old outrages. “F— Trump” graffiti still marks many an overpass in Washington, D.C. George W. Bush had a shoe thrown in his face. Bill Clinton was criticized with such fervor that his most vocal critics were labeled the “Clinton crazies.” The biggest difference, though, between the sentiments hurled at the Grover Clevelands of yore and modern politicians is the amplification they get on social media. “Before the expansion of social media a few years ago, there wasnt an easily accessible public forum to shout your nastiest and darkest public opinions,” said Matthew Delmont, a history professor at Dartmouth College. Is Qanon The Same Thing As PizzagateYes and no. QAnon has been described as a big-budget sequel to Pizzagate, because it takes the original Pizzagate conspiracy theory which alleged, falsely, that Mrs. Clinton and her cronies were operating a child sex-trafficking ring out of the basement of a Washington, D.C., pizza restaurant and adds many more layers of narrative on top of it. But many people believe in both theories, and for many QAnon believers, Pizzagate was a kind of gateway to the larger world of right-wing conspiracy theories. One new element in QAnon is a number of clear and specific predictions about when and how The Storm would play out. For years, Q has predicted that mass arrests of cabal members would occur on certain days, that certain government reports would reveal the cabals misdeeds and that Mr. Trump would coast to a landslide re-election. None of those predictions came true. But most QAnon believers didnt care. They simply found ways to reframe the narrative and ignore the discrepancies, and moved on. But it wasn’t just a militaristic state it was also one that admired the military mindset, of complete obedience, work as a group rather than as individuals, and use of state-sponsored violence. Military coups and heavy support tend to be one of the ways in which fascist states gain and hold onto power, and there are historians who propose that the increased sophistication of warfare in the 20th century, where it became significantly machine-driven, played a distinct role in the self-image of fascist states. What Does âQuid Pro Quoâ Mean? | NBC News Now
Quid pro quo: A Latin term meaning something for something. Its come up this week in connection to President Donald Trumps July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to a White House transcript of the call, Trump asked for a favor help from Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 contender. The quid pro quo is in the Presidents words, Democratic Rep. John Garamendi of California argued on CNNs New Day Friday, telling John Berman that Trumps phone call with Zelensky makes it very clear. CNN has confirmed that Trump ordered a hold on millions in military aid to Ukraine roughly one week before the call with Zelensky, which was first reported by The Washington Post. Trump claimed he withheld the aid because he was waiting for European nations to contribute their fair share and that the delay wasnt related to the investigation request. That together with withholding the funds, which preceded the phone call. All of these things are there. And thats not circumstantial, Garamendi said. CNN chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin argued on CNN Wednesday that theres very strong evidence that there was a quid pro quo here in Trumps phone call. Toobin pointed to the section of the White House transcript in which Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine was ready to buy more Javelin missiles from the US. Trump replied, I would like you to do us a favor. Also Check: What Do Republicans Think About Obamacare Desperate People Cast Desperate Votes

President Trump signs executive order on Medicare
Liberating Virtual Medicine . The ability to deliver medical care remotely is growing by leaps and bounds. It promises to lower medical costs, increase quality and lower the time and travel cost of patient care. For example: 1 After hip and knee replacements at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, patients are transported to rehab facilities, nursing homes and even to their own homes — where follow-up observations are made with video cameras. 2 A nurse at Mercy Virtual Hospital in St. Louis can use a camera in a hospital room in North Carolina to see that an IV bag is almost empty. She can then call and instruct a nurse on the floor to refill it. The telemedicine cameras are powerful enough to detect a patients skin color. Microphones can pick up patient coughs, gasps and groans. Savings Accounts To Benefit The Wealthy And HealthyThe executive order proposes wider access to Medicare Medical Savings Accounts , which are available to those enrolled in high-deductible Medicare Advantage plans. Like health savings accounts , the money in MSAs is tax-free and can be used toward health care costs, including dental, hearing, and vision. While high-deductible health plans and MSAs can be a good value for relatively healthy seniors who have high enough incomes to afford to fund these accounts, they may not provide adequate financial protection for those who need first-dollar coverage or have greater health needs. President Trump has previously proposed turning MSAs into a tax shelter, which would chiefly benefit the wealthy. Trumps FY 2020 budget proposed allowing seniors to deposit additional funds into MSAs beyond the plans contribution, as they can with HSAs. Data on HSA contributions show that higher-income individuals are more likely to contribute toward accounts and to benefit more from the tax exemption. Fact Check: No Evidence For Trump’s CovidJane C. Timm and In recent months, our nation, and the entire planet, has been struck by a new and powerful invisible enemy. Like those brave Americans before us, we are meeting this challenge. We are delivering lifesaving therapies, and will produce a vaccine before the end of the year, or maybe even sooner! Trump claimed on Thursday night. This is largely false. The U.S. is still struggling to meet the challenge of the deadly coronavirus, which is still spreading rapidly and killing sometimes more than a thousand people a day while other countries have managed to reduce transmission and dramatically reduce deaths. The U.S. has a quarter of the globe’s confirmed infections, despite having just 4.2 percent of the global population. Meanwhile, testing is limited and shortages of personal protective equipment persist six months after the first days of the pandemic. At last week’s Democratic convention, Sanders said, “My friends, I say to you, to everyone who supported other candidates in this primary, and to those who may have voted for Donald Trump in the last election: The future of our democracy is at stake. The future of our economy is at stake. The Medicare levy is collected from employees in the same way income tax is collected. Generally, the pay as you go amount that an employer withholds from a salary or wages includes an amount to cover the Medicare levy. The Australian Taxation Office does its calculations on the actual amount owed when an income tax return is lodged, but usually there will not be a big disparity. The levy is in addition to other forms of income tax. It is listed on the Notice of Assessment or a tax refund estimate at the end of every financial year. Changes Fall Far ShortJayapal on Thursday said the Biden administration didnt go far enough in revamping the model. While Im glad to see the administration taking steps to redesign this flawed programI am disappointed that these changes will not be enacted for 10 months and that there are no limits on how many seniors are funneled into this experimental model, Jayapal said in the statement from Physicians for a National Health Program. More needs to be done, and I will continue to fight tooth and nail against any and all efforts to privatize Medicare. Alex Lawson, executive director of Social Security Works, which has lobbied to end these arrangements, also said the administrations changes to the model were insufficient. Changing the name doesnt change the fact that the direct contracting program is backdoor privatization of Medicare. This dangerous experiment must be stopped before it further harms the health of vulnerable seniors, eats into the Medicare Trust Fund, and destroys traditional Medicare, Lawson said The tweaks that CMMI announced today fall far short of that goal. DCEs and their investorswhich include private equity firmsare focused on generating profits. They are incentivized to deny and delay care as much as possible. There are no changes that can address that fundamental flaw at the heart of the program, he said. For example, based on past guidance, Idaho had been using a simple process to automatically renew coverage for Medicaid beneficiaries for whom administrative data sources showed no income a best practice for keeping beneficiaries enrolled. But the Administration recently informed the state that its process didnt comply with federal requirements, leading Idaho to change its verification process and require additional documentation from beneficiaries. These changes have caused low-income people including eligible children with complex health care needs to lose coverage and forgo needed medical care while trying to re-enroll in Medicaid. Pressure for added paperwork and verification may have contributed to some states large declines in Medicaid enrollment, and will likely worsen the problem going forward. Trumpâs domestic policy chief Brooke Rollins recently told Business Insider that a backup for the ACA is still âbeing worked on.â Ezekiel Emanuel, a health policy expert who was an architect of the original ACA in the Obama administration, is skeptical that any major Republican changes to his legislation are truly in the works. Fact Check: ‘record’ Job Gains Still Leave The Us Labor Market In Worse Shape Than Great RecessionOn the last night of his partys convention, President Trump bragged about record job gains in recent months, but the 9.1 million jobs he touts come with some qualifiers. “Over the past three months, we have gained over nine million jobs, and thats a record in the history of our country,” Trump said Thursday. The recent job gains are still less than half the number of jobs the economy shed in March and April at the height of pandemic-ordered lockdowns. From March through July, the economy lost a net 12.9 million jobs, the most in American history. The nearly 2 million jobs added in July also represent a sharp slowdown from the almost 5 million jobs added in June. And several major groups of workers are at greater risk of falling behind. Black unemployment, at 14.6 percent in July, registered less than a percentage point of improvement. Among Hispanics, the rate of unemployment also remained elevated at nearly 13 percent, compared to just nearly 9 percent for white workers. Trump on ABC News town hall: We will protect coverage for preexisting conditions
Midway through his speech Thursday, Donald Trump mentioned Kenosha, Wisconsin but did not make mention of Jacob Blake, who was shot seven times in the back by the city’s police. He began by saying: We have to give law enforcement, our police, back their power. They are afraid to act, he continued. They are afraid to lose their pension. They are afraid to lose their jobs, and by being afraid they are not able to do their jobs. And those who suffer most are the great people who they want so desperately to protect. When there is police misconduct, the justice system must hold wrongdoers fully and completely accountable, and it will, he continued. But what we can never have in America and must never allow is mob rule. In the strongest possible terms, the Republican Party condemns the rioting, looting, arson, and violence we have seen in Democrat-run cities like Kenosha, Minneapolis, Portland, Chicago, and New York. Trump did not make mention of the pro-police sympathizer and Trump-supporter who is alleged of shooting and killing two protesters in Kenosha earlier this week. The accusation repeats, nearly verbatim, a false claim touted in a series of ads being run by the Trump campaign and by the pro-Trump PAC America First Action. In one such ad, a narrator discusses how “the radical left wing of the Democratic Party has taken control” and says, “Joe Biden stands with them and embraces their policies defunding the police.” Biden is then heard saying, “Yes, absolutely.” Another ad follows the same pattern, with a narrator saying Biden supports “reducing police funding” and Biden saying, “Yes, absolutely.” The remark in both ads that Pence cited is taken out of context. It is from a , in which Biden is responding to a question from progressive activist Ady Barkan about whether some government funding for law enforcement should redirected to other areas, like increased social services. “Yes, absolutely,” Biden replies. Biden has explicitly said he doesn’t support “defunding” the police.
